It is through the writings of local authors that a community comes to life. In Mission we are fortunate to have a wealth of creative and insightful individuals who have dedicated themselves to observe and comment on their lives, their locale, the people whom they have met and the events they have witnessed. Join us as we take a journey with three of Mission’s authors.
John Pullen has written a memoir in prose, poetry and images of his years in England’s countryside and his lifetime of farming in the Fraser Valley. John Herl is an expert on the subject of genealogy, culture and family history, and will share his latest writings. Daphne Sleigh, author of The Man Who Saved Vancouver (2008) will preview her soon-to-be published work on the art of Father Dunstan Massey, who has embellished the architecture of Westminster Abbey in Mission with frescoes and bas-reliefs.
