For returning writers: move on to a new level. What’s unique about your experience? How creative can you be and still respect historic accuracy? Capturing settings and personality through vivid scenes, and revisiting ethical issues while emphasizing your own style.
Have you ever thought of writing your Life Story, but just can’t seem to get started? With the encouragement of an experienced writing guide, you can begin with one small story at a time. Each session will start with a brief discussion of common family and life events, and then you will be encouraged to write down your memories, in a free-flowing manner. For those writers who want some personal guidance, alternative weeks are scheduled for appointments to get an assessment of short pieces you choose to hand in.
This is not a writer’s group, and you are not be asked to read or critique one another’s writing. We will provide a comfortable place, a regular schedule, and hints to get you started. Each session will start with a brief discussion of common life events, and then you will be encouraged to write down your memories, in a free-flowing manner. Spelling, grammar and editing will come later – the first and most important step is to start writing.
Come once, or come as often as you choose. Your stories will be yours, to pas on to younger generations, put together in a booklet or a blog, or simply enjoy re-reading in quiet moments.
