Our wellness, and fitness classes will continue throughout the summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Chair Yoga will NOT be available, regular classes will resume in September. Our classes encourage a holistic and multi-faceted approach to well-being that creates an environment in which all the positive aspects of our lives are strengthened and nurtured. We support active participation and a proactive outlook, to make our life-journey creative, balanced and ever-changing.
Lifetime Learning has a new program on Nordic Pole Walking. Nordic Pole Walking is a low-impact exercise that can be done by nearly anyone. It works 90% of your muscles and burns up to 46% more calories that regular walking. It is a is a low-impact, easy to learn, and enjoyable exercise for people of all ages and fitness levels. Intergenerational Walking Path Project at Fraserview Learning Centre
Ground Breaking for the Intergenerational Walking Path was held on Wednesday, Sept 21, 2016

Diabetes Self-Management Click Here
The Diabetes Self-Management Program Is a six-week workshop that helps people with diabetes to better manage their symptoms and their daily lives. The workshop provides information and teaches practical skills. It gives people the confidence and motivation they need to manage the challenges of living with diabetes.
Chronic Pain Self-Management Program Click Here
This six week education programme focuses on Living Well with Chronic Pain. It features interactive sessions with nurses, a social worker specializing in stress management, a nutritionist, a physiotherapist and a pharmacist. The interactive workshop is for people experiencing a wide range of chronic pain conditions.
Intergenerational Gardening Club
Come join in the joy of planning and planting the Intergenerational Garden. Do you love gardening, but no longer have the space or mobility? Come and share your passion and pass on your knowledge with the youth. Remember: “many hands make…” Click here for more information
About the Program
As the recipients of the Government of Canada’s New Horizon’s for Seniors Program the project is designed to engage youth and seniors in intergenerational mentoring and to promote connections between these two communities of learners. We are grateful to our members, instuctors, staff, students, and partners at School District #75 who with their energy and willingness to share their experiences, skills and wisdom made the project a rewarding experience for everyone.
